Separately, Indian diplomatic missions in the region issued advisories. The Indian Embassy in Doha urged Indian nationals in Qatar to exercise caution, follow local advisories, and provided a 24×7 helpline: +974-55647502 and email [email protected]. The Indian Embassy in Jordan advised all Indian nationals and tourists to leave the country immediately before commercial flights could be disrupted and listed an emergency contact: +962-770 422 276. The Indian Embassy in Tehran advised Indians to exercise utmost caution and avoid unnecessary movement, and the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv similarly advised heightened vigilance. India has also issued advisories for its missions in Iran, Israel, and Jordan.
These advisories followed reports of a joint military strike by Israel and the United States, described in some reports as Operation Roaring Lion, reportedly targeting Iranian military sites, missile production facilities, and areas near Iran’s Supreme Leader’s office. Reports indicated strikes on several ministries in southern Tehran and powerful blasts heard by residents. In response to the strikes, Israel declared a nationwide state of emergency, moved some hospital services underground and activated sirens. Iran, Israel and Iraq closed their airspace and suspended flights.
The developments have disrupted diplomatic efforts, including U.S.-Iran nuclear negotiations in Oman, and have prompted emergency measures and public concern as the situation continues to unfold. Travelers and residents in affected countries should follow official embassy guidance, monitor reputable news and government updates, and use the contact points above for consular assistance.
