London, March 27 (ANI) — International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi expressed serious concern following reported military strikes close to Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, including an episode on Tuesday evening. Grossi warned that because Bushehr is an operating nuclear power station that contains substantial quantities of nuclear material, any damage could trigger a large radiological accident with consequences extending across Iran and beyond. He urged maximum restraint and emphasized adherence to the IAEA’s seven pillars for nuclear safety and security during conflicts.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that combined forces have continued targeting Iranian missile units, launchers, storage and production facilities. The think tank said strikes intensified against Iran’s defense industrial base and likely struck the 7th Artesh Air Force Tactical Airbase in Shiraz, Fars Province. ISW also cited reported attacks on the IRGC Ground Forces Ansar ol Hossein provincial unit in Hamedan and on an IRGC headquarters near Bonab in East Azerbaijan Province.
Using commercial satellite imagery dated March 15, ISW assessed significant damage to naval and air infrastructure at the IRGC 4th Sarallah Naval District in Bushehr Province. That district is responsible for controlling the central Persian Gulf region, including the South Pars gas field.
Iran reported continued retaliatory operations. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it carried out wave 83 of Operation True Promise 4 early Friday, striking what it described as key U.S. and Israeli military sites in the region with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. The IRGC listed targets including storage tanks and an oil depot in Ashdod, a military personnel site in Modi’in, and a U.S. military information exchange center. It named U.S. bases Al-Dhafra and Al-Udeiri, maintenance and storage hangars for transport aircraft and drones at Ali Al-Salem Air Base, fuel tanks for jets and fighters, and a Patriot missile system maintenance hangar at Sheikh Isa Base among the struck sites.
