Pro-independence Baloch armed groups have claimed responsibility for two separate attacks in Balochistan, local media reported.
The Baloch Republican Guards, through spokesperson Dostain Baloch, said they targeted machinery in the Dera Murad Jamali area of Naseerabad near Rabi. He said explosive devices were placed on equipment the group alleges was linked to Pakistani security forces and to military-associated commercial operations tied to regional agricultural resources. The BRG warned that similar projects and personnel would be targeted unless they withdraw.
Separately, the United Baloch Army claimed an armed assault on April 4 in the Sanni area of Kachhi district. UBA spokesperson Mazar Baloch said fighters exchanged fire with individuals he described as members of a state-backed armed group. He said two people were killed, weapons were seized, and that those killed had long-standing ties to intelligence-affiliated armed groups, provided information on Baloch fighters, and participated in detentions. He added that the men had previously been warned.
Both groups issued broader warnings to others they accused of cooperating with state institutions, urging them to stop such activities.
Human rights organisations have repeatedly raised concerns about enforced disappearances in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan, saying a lack of accountability and official response has increased fear and eroded trust among affected communities, according to The Balochistan Post citing ANI.
