Authorities and rights groups report a string of killings and enforced-disappearance allegations in Balochistan that have renewed worries about security practices in the province.
A 17-year-old, Yawar Habib of Omari Kahn Shapuk, was found dead near Bank Charhai along the Turbat–Pasni road, hospital officials told reporters. Yawar’s body showed gunshot wounds to the head and back, and his identity was confirmed by his brother at the Teaching Hospital in Turbat. Family sources and local reports say he had been forcibly taken on June 16, 2025, at about 3:00 pm by unidentified armed men outside the Turbat bench of the Balochistan High Court, where he had been attending a hearing. After his disappearance the family staged protests and a sit‑in along the China‑Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) highway demanding his return.
Separately, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) said a 30‑year‑old farmer, Obaidullah Baloch, was shot dead near Hajika Cross in Surab district. The committee alleges he was returning home when personnel of the Frontier Corps opened fire and later labeled him a militant. The BYC condemned the killing as part of a pattern of repression and called on international human rights organisations to intervene.
The BYC also reported the case of Muhammad Amir, a resident of Mastung, saying he was taken from his home on the eve of Eid al‑Fitr and shot within minutes. The group asserts no warrant was shown and that Amir’s body was withheld for several hours before it was returned to the family under imposed conditions.
Another case cited by the BYC involved a 23‑year‑old driver named Abdullah, who was reportedly killed in Panjgur on March 20. The committee described these incidents as continuing targeted violence in the region.
Pakistani authorities have not issued an official response to the allegations cited in regional reports.
