The Abu Dhabi Media Office said an Indian national suffered minor injuries from falling debris after the UAE’s air defence systems intercepted a ballistic missile targeting the capital. The incident occurred in Abu Dhabi’s Al Shawamekh area.
In a post on X, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said relevant authorities responded to debris falling in Al Shawamekh following the successful interception, and that the incident resulted in a minor injury to an Indian national. The office urged the public to rely on official sources and avoid spreading rumours or unverified information.
The UAE said its air defences engaged multiple Iranian aerial threats on Sunday, intercepting 25 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and four ballistic missiles during the latest wave of attacks.
The Ministry of Defence posted on X that UAE air defences had engaged Iranian ballistic and cruise missiles as well as UAVs. The ministry also released cumulative figures since the escalation began, saying 1,773 UAVs, 15 cruise missiles and 345 ballistic missiles have been intercepted.
