Islamabad, Mar 3, 2026 — Pakistan security forces said they killed 67 Afghan Taliban fighters in overnight operations and repulsed attacks at multiple frontier locations, officials reported.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, giving an update on Operation Ghazab lil Haq launched on Feb 26 in response to recent cross-border raids, said 40 Taliban were killed in overnight operations along the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) border. He said a physical attack was attempted at one site and fire raids were conducted at 12 others; all were repulsed without Pakistani losses, and follow-up actions were continuing.
Separately, Tarar said Taliban fighters launched physical attacks from across the border at 16 sites in northern Balochistan — including Qilla Saifullah, Noshki and Chaman districts — and carried out fire raids on 25 locations. Those assaults were also repelled, with Pakistani officials reporting 27 Taliban killed and many more wounded. Tarar added that one Frontier Corps Balochistan North soldier was killed and five servicemen were injured in the exchanges.
On Monday the minister gave broader figures for the operation, saying Pakistani forces had killed 435 Taliban combatants and wounded about 630, destroyed 188 tanks and armoured vehicles, captured 31 Afghan posts, and struck 51 targets in air strikes across Afghanistan.
State-run Pakistan Television (PTV) reported that an air operation in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province destroyed the Khogani base, and quoted security sources saying the Taliban and associated militant elements were facing heavy setbacks after what Pakistan described as unprovoked aggression. PTV added that Operation Ghazab lil Haq remains ongoing and will continue until its objectives are achieved.
