Abu Dhabi [UAE], December 3 (ANI/WAM): UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was joined by Supreme Council members, Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers and Sheikhs at the official ceremony marking the UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad, held at the Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi under the theme “United.”
Attendees included Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah; Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain; Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah; and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court.

The ceremony reflected the enduring spirit of the Union, honouring the UAE’s heritage, its progress and achievements, and the national ambitions shaping its future. It paid tribute to the legacy of the nation’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the values that helped shape the UAE’s identity.
Historical artefacts from the Zayed National Museum collection highlighted the country’s journey, including the Abu Dhabi Pearl — a natural pearl estimated at around 8,000 years old and among the oldest known; Bronze Swords from the Saruq Al Hadid site; Carnelian Beads dating back about 5,000 years; the Abiel Coin, an early regional currency; and the Kamal, a traditional wooden navigational tool used to measure star positions. The display also featured a 1966 Chrysler Newport once used by the late Sheikh Zayed and the Magan Boat, a reconstruction of an ancient vessel used in early maritime trade.
Creative and technical teams presented a visual journey with light shows, traditional Emirati-inspired costumes, orchestral music and folk performances, featuring artists of all ages and backgrounds in tribute to generations contributing to the UAE’s story. The UAE National Orchestra gave a special debut performance capturing the nation’s spirit and unifying values.
The event was livestreamed across the official Eid Al Etihad digital platforms, allowing residents and those who consider the UAE home to join the celebration. (ANI/WAM)
