Abu Dhabi, March 20 — The UAE State Security Apparatus (SSA) announced it has dismantled a terrorist network reportedly funded and directed by Lebanon’s Hezbollah and elements linked to Iran, and has arrested the group’s members.
According to the SSA, the cell operated inside the country under a false commercial cover, seeking to infiltrate the national economy and execute external schemes that could undermine the UAE’s financial stability. Investigators found the group followed a pre-established strategic plan coordinated with external parties connected to Hezbollah and Iran. The network is accused of breaching economic and legal regulations to launder money, finance terrorism and threaten national security.
The SSA warned that any attempt to exploit the national economy or civil institutions for terrorist or subversive purposes will be dealt with firmly. It said the UAE will not tolerate any external interference that threatens the country’s security or stability, regardless of its origin or pretext.
