Valve has rolled out an exciting new feature on Steam, enhancing how players engage with game achievements. Known as 'achievement sets,' this addition enables developers to organize achievements into distinct groups for both base games and their downloadable content (DLCs).

Unlocking Achievements Made Easier

When players earn achievements, they will still do so by playing their games in the usual manner. However, once players look back at their achievements, they will find that Steam now categorizes these into developer-defined sets. This classification simplifies progress tracking and helps gamers identify which achievements they might want to pursue next.

Each achievement set features its own progress bar, allowing users to see how far they've come. Upon completing all challenges within a set, players are rewarded with a special 'set complete' trophy that is displayed on their profile, adding an extra layer of satisfaction to their gaming experience.

Seasonal and Temporary Achievement Fun

Adding to the excitement, Valve has hinted at seasonal achievement sets that can be archived by developers. This opens a myriad of possibilities for game developers to introduce temporary challenges. For instance, seasonal-themed games could launch unique achievements during specific times of the year, or special holiday achievements could be offered for a limited time.
