London, March 8 — The Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM) has condemned what it describes as the enforced disappearance of its Jamshoro district president, Saeed Tiyono, saying he and Sabir Abro were seized by state agencies on March 5 and remain unaccounted for. In a statement on Facebook the group called the incident a clear example of state brutality and accused security forces of systematically targeting Sindhi nationalist activists.
JSFM leaders — including Sohail Abro, Zubair Sindhi, Amar Azadi, Farhan Sindhi, Hafeez Deshi, Marak Sindhu, Hosho Sindhi, Mansoor Ahmed Hub, Muhammad Osama Soomro, and Tahir Khan — issued a joint condemnation, arguing the alleged abduction is part of a broader crackdown on those demanding Sindh’s political and economic rights.
The movement said Tiyono had spoken out about the exploitation of Sindh’s natural resources and had campaigned for the recovery of other activists who are reportedly missing. JSFM added that he supported political workers who, the group says, are imprisoned on fabricated or politically motivated charges.
JSFM warned that, if Tiyono and Abro are not released immediately, it will mount strong protests that could include a blockade of the Jamshoro National Highway as part of wider mobilization.
The group appealed to the international community — including the United Nations, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and UK lawmakers — to investigate the alleged disappearances and to press Pakistan for the safe recovery of the activists. JSFM described enforced disappearance as a grave violation of international law and warned that international silence would deepen fear among activists in Sindh and Balochistan.
