Tel Aviv, Israel, December 2 — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Monday that troops from its Southern Brigade operating in central Gaza identified an individual who crossed the Yellow Line, the boundary set under the Gaza ceasefire, and advanced toward Israeli forces in a manner the military judged to be an immediate threat.
The Israel Air Force struck and killed the person, the IDF reported.
“IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat,” the military said in a statement.
The Yellow Line designates areas where Israeli forces retain freedom of movement under the ceasefire arrangement: Israel controls territory to the east, north and south of the line, while Hamas and other armed groups are prohibited from crossing it.
