Miley Cyrus has confirmed she is engaged to longtime partner Maxx Morando after attention at the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
The 33-year-old singer, who has dated the Liily drummer for about four years, attended the premiere with Morando. Cyrus’s song “Dream As One” appears in the film, and photographers noticed a prominent cushion-cut diamond on her left ring finger set on a thick 14-karat yellow-gold band, sparking engagement reports.
Outlets including Page Six and People covered the sighting, and Cyrus later spoke to People to acknowledge the milestone. “I’ve been astounded,” she said, describing what taking this next step has felt like.
Cyrus emphasized that privacy has become more important to her; she said keeping things small has given her greater control over what she shares publicly. She also noted that the film’s themes—love, family, resilience and reconnection—resonate with where she is in life now.
The ring was first noticed in mid-November and was reportedly seen again during Cyrus’s birthday celebrations. Francesca Simons, a representative for jeweller Jacquie Aiche, confirmed that the designer created the engagement ring, describing it as a bold cushion-cut diamond on a substantial gold band that mixes classic and contemporary elements.
Cyrus and Morando have generally maintained a low profile while appearing together at select events. The confirmed engagement represents a meaningful step for the couple as they continue to prioritize a grounded, private relationship amid public interest.
