Tehran, March 26 — Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a public warning to U.S. and Israeli forces against launching any ground operation on Iranian territory, saying such a move would be met with overwhelming resistance and accusing U.S. decision-makers of being misled by warmongers.
The IRGC statement cautioned foreign forces not to underestimate Iran’s resolve, contending that invading troops would be swallowed by what it called the ‘million-strong sea’ of the Iranian nation. The statement also asserted that the realities of the conflict are visible across the region, including in Iranian cities and in the skies over Tel Aviv and Haifa.
Separately, a CBS report cited U.S. planning that may send elements of the 82nd Airborne Division — including a command component and some ground forces — to the Middle East. The report said planners are considering a possible ground operation on Kharg Island.
The IRGC said precision-guided missiles — named Emad, Qiam, Khorramshahr-4 and Qadr — struck more than 70 locations across Israel in what it described as the 81st wave of Operation True Promise 4. The IRGC’s public relations office claimed the strikes hit targets in Haifa, Dimona, Al-Khudriyya near Haifa, and areas north and south of Tel Aviv. The statement reiterated an earlier threat to ‘level Tel Aviv and Haifa,’ invoking directives from Iran’s late leader.
The corps also claimed that since the start of the conflict more than 700 missiles and some 3,600 drones have been launched at American and Israeli targets, and that Iranian air-defence systems have intercepted and destroyed more than 200 incoming aircraft and missiles, including cruise missiles and advanced fighter jets.
Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Bagherian Araghchi told state media that Tehran will continue a policy of ‘resistance’ in response to what he described as unprovoked American-Israeli aggression. He said Iran would not enter negotiations or accept a ceasefire without reliable guarantees, adding that no negotiations have taken place to date even as regional diplomatic contacts continue.
