Tehran — The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the start of the 27th phase of Operation True Promise 4, saying the offensive targets American and Israeli positions and is a response to what it described as a new wave of “unprovoked US-Israeli aggression,” Iranian state broadcaster Press TV reported.
According to the IRGC statement, the latest phase combined missile and drone strikes. It said missile counter-attacks focused on Israeli military infrastructure in northern occupied areas and employed newly developed solid-fuel missiles from the IRGC Aerospace Division. The announcement named the weapon as the Kheibar-Shekan missile, saying it has terminal guidance capability “up to the point of impact.” The description was attributed to the IRGC.
Press TV also carried IRGC claims that unmanned aerial systems struck a site housing American personnel. The Corps said drone units “successfully targeted the location where American forces are stationed in ‘Marina,’ in the vicinity of the buildings of the ‘Warner Brothers’ company.”
Separately, the IRGC Navy said it struck facilities it linked to the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, including a command centre for unmanned surface vessels and military support hangars at Salman Port, which the statement described as belonging to “American terrorist forces.”
The Corps further claimed that Israeli authorities were attempting to create a human shield by restricting residents of occupied territories to northern and central areas. Press TV reported that ongoing retaliatory strikes have led to frequent emergency sirens across the region, citing the IRGC’s description of the atmosphere as “siren after siren.”
The military statement warned that Iran’s armed forces are prepared for a prolonged escalation and said units “are lying in wait for American forces with precision and planning.”
Operation True Promise 4 reportedly began after foreign strikes last Saturday. Since then, the IRGC has said it launched hundreds of ballistic missiles and suicide drones at a range of strategic sites, naming targets that included Tel Aviv, the “holy occupied city of al-Quds,” and the technology centre of Be’er Sheva. Earlier IRGC reports also claimed engagements involving the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln and a destroyer in the Indian Ocean.
