Tehran, March 28 — Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has claimed it struck six US tactical vessels in Persian Gulf waters and said a large number of American personnel were killed. The IRGC said the action formed part of the 84th wave of ‘Operation True Promise 4.’ Its public relations office described a hybrid naval operation against US and Israeli forces at al-Shoyoukh port and along Dubai’s coasts and port, saying American troops and tactical hardware were targeted.
According to the IRGC statement, six US landing craft utility (LCU) vessels were hit using domestically produced ballistic and cruise missiles, including Qadr 380 missiles; three of the craft allegedly sank and the others were reported ablaze. The statement also said refuelling vehicles and logistical support ships belonging to US forces at the Al-Kharj base were destroyed. It added that kamikaze drones were used against gathering points of US drone unit personnel on the coasts and against a hotel in Dubai.
Separately, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported that a missile was launched from Yemen toward Israel on Saturday morning — the first Houthi launch since ‘Operation Roaring Lion’ began about a month ago. The Jerusalem Post, citing the IDF, said air-defence systems were activated and sirens sounded in Beersheba and nearby Negev communities; there were no immediate reports of casualties or direct impacts.
Iranian state media Press TV quoted the Yemeni Armed Forces as saying they were prepared to intervene directly if what they called ‘American-Israeli aggression’ against Iran and allied groups continues. The claims in this report are from a syndicated feed via ANI and have not been independently verified.
