Tehran, March 7 — Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it has launched the 23rd phase of Operation True Promise 4, deploying what Iranian state media described as new-generation missile and drone systems against US regional bases and other targets, Press TV reported.
The IRGC’s Public Relations Office said the latest action was a combined drone-and-missile assault carried out earlier in the day, using both solid-fuel and liquid-fuel missiles to engage high-priority objectives. State broadcasts named the Khorramshahr-4, Kheibar and Fattah systems as among the weapons used.
Iranian statements listed several US-linked facilities it said were struck, including headquarters at the Sheikh Isa, Juffair, Ali al-Salem and al-Azraq bases located in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan. Iranian media also said the operation targeted the Be’er Sheva area, asserting attacks on advanced technology centers, cybersecurity installations and military support facilities.
The IRGC praised the launches as a ‘‘flawless execution’’ from an ‘‘unbroken chain’’ of missile bases and said the phase was intended to counter narratives that Iran’s defensive and missile capabilities are weakening. Tehran framed the operations as retaliation for recent US and Israeli actions it described as unprovoked aggression.
Iranian statements further claimed strikes reached as far as Tel Aviv and al-Quds and that Iranian forces had hit major maritime assets, including the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln and a US destroyer in the Indian Ocean. These claims were made by the IRGC and reported by Iranian state outlets and have not been independently verified.
