Tehran — Iran’s top operational command, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, has warned the United Arab Emirates against permitting its soil to be used as a launchpad for attacks on the Iranian islands of Abu Musa and Greater Tunb in the Persian Gulf.
Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaqari, a spokesman for the command that coordinates operations between the regular Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said Tehran would “strike the origin of any aggression against our territory and national sovereignty.” He added that if further attacks originated from UAE territory against those islands, “Iran’s powerful Armed Forces will subject Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE to heavy and crushing strikes.”
The warning comes amid Iran’s ongoing Operation True Promise 4, launched in response to recent US and Israeli actions. Iranian authorities say they have struck key American military facilities across the region, including sites in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Jordan.
Iranian Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araghchi also posted on X that Tehran has intelligence about Israeli plans to target Iranian infrastructure and warned of a strong response. He wrote: “Zero restraint if our infrastructure is attacked.” He added that Iran does not initiate surprise attacks while engaged in dialogue, but responds forcefully when attacked.
The UAE Ministry of Defence said its air defences intercepted four ballistic missiles and 26 unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iran on Friday. The ministry said that since the start of what it termed blatant Iranian aggression, UAE defences have engaged a total of 338 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles and 1,740 UAVs. The ministry confirmed casualties, reporting the martyrdom of two armed forces members and six civilian fatalities among Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi and Palestinian nationals, and a total of 158 people injured with injuries ranging from minor to severe. The UAE affirmed its readiness to confront threats and protect national sovereignty and stability.
Separately, the IRGC announced the 70th wave of Operation True Promise 4, saying the latest phase targeted more than 55 locations occupied by US and Israeli forces across the region and describing initial strikes as producing “loud explosions, bursts of fire, and columns of smoke.”
