Tehran, March 21 — An Iranian military official warned the United States that any ground invasion of Iranian territory would cross a red line and promised a fresh ‘surprise’ aimed at former President Donald Trump, Tasnim News Agency reported.
The comment followed media reports that U.S. planners have considered possible ground operations inside Iran. The military source told Tasnim that a ground attack would be unacceptable and that Iran would respond as it has to previous hostile moves.
The official referred to earlier strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure, saying those attacks disrupted energy facilities across the region and underscoring Tehran’s readiness to retaliate. He added a personal warning toward Trump, calling him a terrorist and saying that if Washington attempted such an operation Iran would respond so forcefully that U.S. forces could not remove the remains of their dead from Iranian soil.
The source also claimed that any attacks on Iran’s islands would inflict damage beyond Iranian shores, potentially affecting coastal areas of the United Arab Emirates, and suggested Dubai and Abu Dhabi might be hit early in a conflict.
Separately, CBS News reported that the Trump administration has examined options for removing Iran’s nuclear material, citing sources briefed on the deliberations. One option reportedly considered was deploying forces from the Joint Special Operations Command; however, the outlets cited uncertainty about timing and whether a presidential order would be given.
Amid the tensions, President Trump said the U.S. was not seeking a ceasefire. Speaking outside the White House, he said dialogue was possible but that he did not want a ceasefire while U.S. forces were ‘obliterating the other side.’
