Tehran, March 4 (ANI) — As the West Asia conflict entered its fifth day, Mohammad Mokhber, a senior aide to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, told state television that Iran has no intention of negotiating with the United States and can sustain the war for as long as necessary.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said it launched what it called the 17th wave of strikes against US and Israeli targets, Press TV reported. The IRGC said its Ground Force carried out three major operations in response to Israeli‑US strikes against Iran.
Announcing another phase of “Operation True Promise 4,” the IRGC’s public relations office said that immediately after the joint Israeli‑US strikes its ground forces sent more than 230 assault drones toward targets in the Occupied Lands and US bases in the region. The statement said: “Firing dozens of drones in several waves towards the US military bases in Erbil and Kuwait, and destroying several terrorist groups’ headquarters in northern Iraq, were the first actions of brave soldiers of the IRGC against child‑killing aggressors.”
The IRGC further claimed a fresh wave of retaliatory strikes crippled a major US air base in Bahrain and destroyed command centres, and it alleged the strikes inflicted more than 680 casualties among American troops at various US bases during the first two days of the conflict.
Iranian officials have argued that targeting US military bases in the region constitutes legitimate self‑defence, citing Article 51 of the UN Charter to justify actions taken in response to what they describe as acts of aggression by the US or Israel.
Separately, Press TV reported that the pro‑Palestinian hacktivist collective Handala said it breached the Israeli Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) and intended to release classified documents, top‑secret correspondence, confidential recordings and secret bulletins.
Iran’s state media also reported that a three‑day farewell ceremony for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will be held tonight at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini prayer ground; details of the funeral procession will be announced when finalised.
