Iran’s judiciary announced Wednesday that a man it accused of spying for Israel’s Mossad intelligence service has been executed.
State-run Mizan news agency identified the executed individual as Kourosh Keyvani, saying he had provided images and information about “sensitive locations” to Mossad.
Iran, which carries out a high number of executions compared with many countries, has a history of imposing the death penalty in espionage cases. Such cases are frequently decided in closed trials, where defendants often have limited opportunity to contest evidence or access full legal recourse.
