Dhaka, December 1, 2025 (ANI): The High Commission of India in Dhaka, together with the ITEC Alumni Association of Bangladesh (IAAB), hosted a reception and get-together on December 1 to observe Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Day (ITEC Day 2025).
About 150 ITEC alumni from across Bangladesh attended the event at the High Commission premises. In his remarks, High Commissioner Pranay Verma described ITEC as a key element of India’s South-South cooperation, offering capacity-building and human resource development programmes tailored to the needs and priorities of partner countries.
The High Commissioner noted that more than 5,000 professionals from Bangladesh have taken part in ITEC courses over the years and thanked alumni for acting as a bridge of friendship and exchange between the two nations. He also acknowledged the IAAB for its role in uniting ITEC participants on a common platform.
Several alumni spoke about their training experiences in India, and representatives from partner organisations attended, including the Bangladesh Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (BCSIR), Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organisation (SPARSO), and Bangladesh Land Port Authority (BLPA).
A musical programme by Bangladeshi artistes was presented to mark the occasion and to celebrate the cultural ties between India and Bangladesh.
