Washington DC, February 3 (ANI): India’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, praised the recently announced US-India trade agreement on Tuesday, saying it will open significant opportunities for both economies.
Kwatra said discussions between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi mark an exciting new chapter in bilateral ties. In a post on X, he called the outcome “a big WIN for a consequential partnership” under the two leaders and said the pact will create vast new opportunities for the people and economies of both countries.
The arrangement provides India with lower tariff rates than Pakistan. An Executive Order issued by President Donald Trump on July 31, 2025 set new reciprocal tariff rates for Pakistan at 19%.
