At least four people were killed in one of the largest overnight Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia since the start of the war, Russian local authorities said.
Regional officials reported the deaths near Moscow: a woman was killed when a drone struck her home in Khimki, northwest of the capital, and two men died in the village of Pogorelki, Naro-Fominsk District, Gov. Andrei Vorobyev said. In Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said at least 12 people were wounded in the night-time strikes, mostly near the entrance to a city oil refinery.
Separately, local authorities in the border region of Belgorod reported one fatality. Russia’s defence ministry said its air defences destroyed a total of 556 drones over Russian territory.
The accounts come from regional officials and city authorities; the incident was described by news agencies covering the developments.
