Tehran [Iran], March 28 (ANI): Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has claimed it struck six tactical vessels operated by the US military in Persian Gulf waters, saying a large number of American forces were killed.
The IRGC said the action was part of the 84th wave of “Operation True Promise 4.” Its public relations department said naval units conducted a hybrid operation against US and Israeli forces deployed at al-Shoyoukh port and along Dubai’s coasts and port, striking American troops and tactical hardware.
The statement claimed six US landing craft utility (LCU) vessels were hit using domestically produced ballistic and cruise missiles, including Qadr 380 missiles. According to the IRGC, three of the craft sank after the strikes while the others were ablaze.
The IRGC also said it destroyed refuelling vehicles and logistical support ships belonging to US forces at the Al-Kharj base, and used kamikaze drones against gathering points of US drone unit personnel on the coasts and against a hotel in Dubai.
Separately, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said a missile was launched from Yemen toward Israel on Saturday morning, the first Houthi launch since “Operation Roaring Lion” began a month ago. The Jerusalem Post, citing the IDF, reported air-defence systems were activated and sirens sounded across Beersheba and nearby Negev communities. There were no immediate reports of casualties or direct impacts.
Iranian state media Press TV quoted the Yemeni Armed Forces as saying they were prepared to directly intervene if “American-Israeli aggression” against Iran and allied regional groups continues. (ANI)
