Sanaa [Yemen], March 20 (ANI): Yemen’s Houthi rebels warned they would target American ships and warships in the Red Sea if the United States takes part in any attack alongside Israel against Iran.
The threat came from Yahya Sarea, the Houthis’ spokesperson, who said such U.S. involvement would be part of a broader plan to enable Israel to dominate the region. He framed any American aggression supporting Israel against Iran as an attempt to “confiscate the freedom, independence and dignity” of nations, “enslave and humiliate” peoples, and allow looting and occupation.
Describing the potential confrontation as “the battle of the entire nation,” Sarea said pride and victory lie in what he called “the movement in Jihad for the sake of Almighty God,” citing religious texts to underline his message: “And fight in the cause of Allah and know that Allah is Hearing and Knowing,” and “O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet.”
He added that the Yemeni Armed Forces are closely monitoring regional movements, including hostile actions against Yemen, and will take “the necessary legitimate measures to defend our dear country and its proud people” if faced with aggression.
Sarea also reiterated Yemen’s solidarity with other Arab and Islamic countries, particularly in support of Palestinian resistance, saying Yemen will stand by any Arab or Islamic nation exposed to “Zionist aggression” and will not abandon the people of the Gaza Strip.
The warning underscores rising regional tensions and signals possible military action in the strategic Red Sea waters should the United States intervene against Iran alongside Israel. (ANI)
