New Delhi, February 7 — Air Marshal Balakrishnan Manikantan, AOC-in-C, Central Air Command, met senior Singapore Armed Forces officials on the sidelines of the Singapore Airshow 26 at the Changi Exhibition Centre. He held talks with Brigadier-General Ho Kum Luen, Chief of Staff—Air Staff, Republic of Singapore Air Force, and Brigadier-General Chan Ching Hao, Chief of Staff—Joint Staff, Singapore Armed Forces.
The Indian Air Force said Manikantan also met India’s High Commissioner to Singapore, H.E. Dr. Shilpak Ambule, and visited the Sarang Helicopter Display Team participating in the event. In a solemn tribute, he laid a wreath at the Kranji War Memorial to honour those who fell during World War II.
The airshow, running February 7–8, features aerobatic flying teams performing high-speed stunts and manoeuvres, displays of the latest commercial and military aircraft, mascots Leo and Leonette, and a programme of family-friendly activities.
Separately, India and Singapore on September 4, 2025, adopted an enhanced defence cooperation framework. The two countries agreed to sustain exchanges at all levels, continue regular Defence Ministers’ and Defence Policy Dialogues, pursue ongoing joint army, naval and air exercises, and deepen collaboration on defence technology in emerging areas such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, automation and unmanned vessels.
