Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) [India], February 6 (ANI): Every year on February 5, Pakistan observes what it calls Kashmir Solidarity Day, officially presenting itself as a supporter of Kashmiri rights. Kashmiri activist Javed Beigh, however, described the observance as state-sponsored propaganda meant to distract from Pakistan’s own human rights record.
In a post on X, Beigh called Pakistan’s February 5 observance a “fake drama” and said India’s recent counter-terror operation was its response. He cited the neutralisation of a Pakistani national identified as Adil, whom he alleged was affiliated with the Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), headquartered in Bahawalpur, Punjab.
Beigh said Adil was neutralised during a joint action named “Trashi-I,” conducted by the Indian Army’s CIF Delta alongside Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the Dichhar area of Kishtwar district.
The post reiterated allegations that JeM, founded by Maulana Masood Azhar, has carried out major attacks, including the 2019 Pulwama strike and a recent Red Fort-area incident. Beigh also referenced what he called “Operation Sindoor,” claiming India had bombed and destroyed JeM’s Bahawalpur headquarters and that several relatives of Masood Azhar were killed in that action.
Beigh concluded by asserting that Pakistan’s “Kashmir Solidarity Day” is deceptive and that actions on the ground, rather than symbolic observances, reveal the reality of the Kashmir issue. (ANI)
