New Delhi, April 27 (ANI) — General Kevin Schneider, commander of US Pacific Air Forces, visited India from April 19–25 to reaffirm the United States’ commitment to strengthening its strategic defence partnership with India and to advance a joint vision for a secure, stable Indo‑Pacific.
During the visit, General Schneider held meetings with senior Indian defence officials, including leaders from the Indian Air Force, to reinforce longstanding military ties and to discuss expanding operational cooperation. Officials said the engagements underscored the increasing scope, complexity and interoperability of US‑India collaboration across air, land, sea, space and cyber domains.
A primary focus was enhancing logistics cooperation. Officials described efforts to build stronger logistics frameworks and agreements intended to improve coordination, boost readiness and enable faster, coordinated responses to humanitarian crises and regional contingencies. Those measures are meant to help both countries provide timely assistance and sustain an operational presence across the Indo‑Pacific.
General Schneider toured operational and training facilities, highlighting growing integration and trust between US and Indian forces and a mutual commitment to modernising capabilities to meet emerging security challenges.
The US views India as a key partner in promoting peace, security and prosperity in the region, and the visit was said to reaffirm the US‑India Major Defence Partnership and the ongoing momentum to expand defence cooperation to address evolving regional and global challenges.
The Indian Air Force noted that General Schneider laid a wreath at the National War Memorial, received a ceremonial Guard of Honour and met with senior IAF leadership, including a call on Air Chief Marshal AP Singh. (ANI)
