US President Donald Trump said American military forces will stay deployed in and around Iran until a final ceasefire agreement is fully implemented, signaling Washington’s intent to maintain pressure during a fragile truce. Posting on Truth Social, he said “All U.S. Ships, Aircraft, and Military Personnel, with additional Ammunition, Weaponry, and anything else that is appropriate and necessary for the lethal prosecution and destruction of an already substantially degraded Enemy, will remain in place in, and around, Iran, until such time as the REAL AGREEMENT reached is fully complied with.”
Trump warned that any breach of the understanding could prompt a forceful response, saying that if the agreement is not complied with “the ‘shooting starts’ — bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before.” He reiterated core U.S. objectives, including preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and keeping the Strait of Hormuz “open and safe,” highlighting the strategic importance of the oil transit route.
The remarks come amid a tentative ceasefire between the United States and Iran, with tensions persisting despite the temporary halt in hostilities and differing interpretations of the truce across the region. Trump said U.S. forces were “loading up and resting” while remaining ready to act if required. His comments reflect a hardline posture as diplomatic efforts continue to secure a lasting agreement, with the coming days seen as critical to whether the ceasefire holds or the conflict resumes.
