A U.S. Air Force F-15 fighter jet crashed in Kuwait on Monday, according to multiple early reports and circulating video footage.
A clip shared on X showed a fighter jet on fire before falling from the sky and impacting the ground. The video spread quickly online while official details remain scarce and the fate of the pilot or crew has not been confirmed.
Initial information indicates the pilot — and possibly a second crew member if the aircraft was an F-15E Strike Eagle — used the ejection seat and were later helped on the ground by local security forces or civilians after landing.
Neither the U.S. military nor Kuwaiti authorities have issued formal statements confirming the cause of the crash. It is not yet known whether the jet suffered a mechanical failure, was hit by hostile fire, or experienced some other problem. Investigations are reported to be underway.
The incident occurs amid elevated tensions in the Middle East after recent strikes and counterstrikes involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran, though no official link between those events and this crash has been established.
Iranian state-affiliated outlet Tasnim claimed it shot down a U.S. fighter jet over Kuwait and said the pilot ejected and survived; that allegation has not been independently verified. The Tasnim report was shared on X, including by the account Nexta.
Authorities have released few details publicly; updates from official sources are expected as investigations continue.
