New Delhi, December 6 — The United States Embassy in India has urged Indian authorities to assist in locating and arresting Hameed Nazeer, a fugitive listed on the FBI’s Most Wanted list who the agency says is “known to be living in India.”
In a post on X, the embassy highlighted that the FBI is offering up to $50,000 for information or intelligence that leads to Nazeer’s arrest or conviction. The announcement reaffirmed cooperation with Indian law enforcement to bring him to justice.
Nazeer faces multiple charges in New Jersey, including two counts of first‑degree murder, two counts of third‑degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and one count of fourth‑degree unlawful possession of a weapon. According to the FBI, he is wanted in connection with the March 23, 2017 killings of Sasikala Narra and her six‑year‑old son, Anish Narra, in an apartment in Maple Shade, New Jersey.
The FBI’s wanted notice states that the Newark Field Office is assisting local authorities in the search and reiterates the $50,000 reward. On February 6, 2025, Nazeer was formally charged in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Burlington County, and a state warrant was issued for his arrest.
Authorities have warned that Nazeer “should be considered armed and dangerous” and asked anyone with information to contact the nearest FBI office or any U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
