Hanalei, March 27, 2026 (AP) — A helicopter went down Thursday afternoon on a remote stretch of beach along Kauai’s Na Pali Coast, killing three people and injuring two others, authorities said.
The aircraft, carrying one pilot and four passengers, crashed at Kalalau Beach on the island’s north shore, the Kauai Fire Department said. Police confirmed three fatalities and said the two survivors were taken to Wilcox Medical Centre for treatment.
Officials identified the operator as Airborne Aviation. The Na Pali Coast’s steep cliffs, secluded beaches and waterfalls are commonly viewed on helicopter tours, since much of the coastline is reachable only by hiking or by boat.
