New Delhi, December 15 — External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will travel to Israel later on Monday after concluding high-level meetings with United Arab Emirates leadership, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
According to an MEA statement, following his participation in the Sir Bani Yas Forum, Jaishankar co-chaired the 16th India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting and the 5th Strategic Dialogue with H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, in Abu Dhabi. He will subsequently visit Israel for bilateral consultations with Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.
Jaishankar attended the annual Sir Bani Yas Forum, held December 12–14 in Abu Dhabi’s Western Region. The forum is a high-level platform that brings together senior leaders, policymakers and experts to discuss regional and international issues, with emphasis on peace, security and economic cooperation.
Participants at the forum included leaders and ministers from the Gulf, Arab world, Europe and Asia. Notable attendees listed in reports were Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi; Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty; Cyprus’s Foreign Minister Constantinos Kompos; Montenegro Prime Minister Milojko Spajic; and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
Monday’s India-UAE meetings were expected to comprehensively review bilateral cooperation across strategic, economic and diplomatic areas before Jaishankar proceeded to Israel for further talks with his counterpart.
