Tel Aviv [Israel], December 13 (ANI/TPS): Israel’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Gila Gamliel signed a ten-year strategic space agreement with NASA during an official working visit to the U.S. agency’s headquarters in Washington.
During the visit, Gamliel met with senior NASA leaders to advance plans for sending the first Israeli woman into space and to expand cooperation on lunar and deep-space projects. The agreement frames joint work on Artemis flagship initiatives, the MARE experiment, the ULTRASAT satellite launch, experiments aboard the International Space Station, and collaborative educational programs.
Gamliel said the decade-long deal underscores NASA’s role as Israel’s largest strategic partner in space and reflects confidence in the countries’ ability to jointly drive scientific and technological innovation—from lunar activities to space station research. She added that Israel is now focused on training the first Israeli female astronaut.
