Tehran [Iran], March 18 (ANI): The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said it struck more than 100 targets in Tel Aviv in retaliation for the killing of Ali Larijani, a former senior security official, Press TV reported. The IRGC framed the attacks as a response to what it described as unprovoked American-Israeli aggression and said they were carried out during the 61st wave of its ongoing Operation True Promise 4.
According to Press TV, the operation used multi-warhead Khorramshahr-4 and Qadr missiles alongside Emad and Kheibar Shekan projectiles. The IRGC said the strikes were intended to avenge Larijani, who once served as secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
The force described the assaults as ‘intense lightning strikes’ that hit more than 100 military and security targets in the heart of the ‘occupied territories’ and said they met ‘no obstruction.’ It credited the operation’s success to what it called the ‘disintegration of the Zionist regime’s multilayered and highly advanced air defence systems.’ Field information cited by Press TV said Tel Aviv experienced a partial blackout after the strikes, which it said complicated ground control and rescue efforts.
The IRGC also claimed that Operation True Promise 4 has caused over 230 casualties, both killed and injured, since the campaign began following recent military actions by Washington and Tel Aviv against Iran. Beyond Tel Aviv, Press TV reported strikes on strategic sites in al-Quds, the port of Haifa, Be’er Sheva — described in the report as a technological hub — and the Negev Desert.
Press TV added that US facilities and outposts across the region were also targeted, with impacts reported in Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. (ANI)
