An Indian woman who spent three years living in Islamabad has shared fond memories of daily life in Pakistan in a video that went viral on Instagram. Harshneet Kaur talked about the warm hospitality she experienced, the city’s natural beauty and the cultural moments that stayed with her.
She said locals were especially welcoming to her Sikh family. Because her father wore a turban, people often insisted they stay for tea and food before leaving, using friendly phrases that invited them to share a meal. Harshneet recalled that it was rare for hosts to let guests go without offering refreshments.
A highlight for her was Islamabad’s scenery. She described how mountains and hills, especially the Margalla Hills, framed the city from almost every direction. Harshneet also singled out nearby Murree as a favorite spot, remembering viewpoints with kebab stalls and restaurants and a night-time view of the city that she found particularly beautiful.
Harshneet also described her international school in Islamabad, where Independence Day festivities included lively cultural events — even animals like camels and cows were brought onto campus for the celebrations. She praised the school’s sports facilities and said she competed on both the swimming and track teams while she was there.
The video resonated online, with many viewers welcoming a positive cross-border story and the reminder of shared cultural warmth between Indians and Pakistanis. Her account emphasizes everyday kindness, scenic surroundings and memorable community moments from her time in Pakistan.
