Abu Dhabi [UAE], March 27 (ANI): The Indian Embassy in the UAE offered its deepest condolences after an Indian national was killed when falling debris struck Abu Dhabi on Thursday. The mission said it is working closely with UAE authorities to provide all possible assistance to the family and those affected.
In a post on X, the Embassy said it “expresses its deepest condolences at the tragic demise of an Indian national due to falling debris in Abu Dhabi today” and reiterated its coordination with local authorities to render support.
The Indian national was one of two people who died after debris fell following the interception of a ballistic missile over Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Media Office said the fatalities — a Pakistani and an Indian national — and injuries to three others occurred during follow-up operations after air-defence systems successfully intercepted the incoming missile.
Officials added that three people of Emirati, Jordanian and Indian nationality sustained injuries ranging from serious to moderate. The Media Office urged the public to rely only on official sources and avoid spreading rumours or unverified information.
Debris struck a busy stretch of Sweihan Street after the interceptor engaged the missile, sending fragments into a populated area. The falling wreckage caused fatalities, multiple injuries and damage to several vehicles. Emergency services were dispatched immediately to assist the wounded and clear the scene. (ANI)
