Beirut, March 29 — Hezbollah said it carried out multiple attacks on Sunday morning against Israeli military positions near the northern city of Safed, Al Jazeera reported.
The group said it launched a missile strike on the Mahava Alon base and deployed drones against the Berea base. It also reported firing three salvos of rockets at Israeli troops and vehicles at the Al-Malikiyah site in northern Israel and said its fighters struck an Israeli armoured force in Deir Siryan, signalling cross-border hostilities into southern Lebanon.
On Saturday the Israel Defence Forces said it had uncovered significant Hezbollah military infrastructure and weapons concealed in civilian areas of southern Lebanon. The IDF said troops found a cache of weapons inside a school in Al-Khiyam near the border, including anti-tank rockets, mortar shells, grenades, launchers, light firearms and explosives, reportedly alongside UNHCR markings. The military also said it identified active Hezbollah infrastructure near a church in the same area.
The IDF said embedding military assets within civilian structures complicates efforts to neutralise the threat without endangering civilians.
