Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), May 25 (ANI) — Defence expert TP Tyagi said the Jaffar Express attack indicates the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has grown beyond a small insurgent cell and now includes a women’s brigade, including a wing of female suicide bombers prepared to take up arms for Baloch independence.
Tyagi told ANI that the BLA is active alongside other militant formations, including Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban, and that unrest is also emerging in parts of PoK and Sindh. He said public sentiment has turned against General Munir after moves he views as hostile to Muslim unity — citing Munir’s reported participation in Donald Trump’s Board of Peace, recognition of Israel, and perceived opposition to Palestinians and Hamas.
Calling it “ridiculous,” Tyagi said Pakistan’s attempts to mediate between the US and Iran are ill-timed while the country faces deep internal strife. He warned these developments could be signs of a potential civil war.
On the recent Jaffar Express incident in Quetta, Tyagi said the attack was a coordinated suicide strike using an explosive-laden vehicle. Officials reported the device struck a carriage as the train passed a signal at Chaman Phatak. The blast occurred shortly after 8 AM, derailing three coaches including the locomotive and overturning two others.
Local reports cited by Geo News and Dawn (quoting APP) put the death toll at more than 30, with 70–80 injured; authorities are still confirming the breakdown of military and civilian casualties. Tyagi said the explosion occurred near the headquarters of Pakistan’s Frontier Corps.
