Balochistan [Pakistan], March 4 (ANI): The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said on Tuesday that it executed seven members of Pakistan’s armed forces who were captured during what it called “Operation Herof II,” after receiving approval from its Senior Command Council, The Balochistan Post reported.
In a statement, the BLA said the seven belonged to regular military units and were convicted by a self-styled “Baloch National Court” for alleged involvement in enforced disappearances, abuses against civilians and other war crimes. The group said it had issued a seven-day ultimatum on February 14 seeking a prisoner exchange and later extended that deadline to 14 days on purported humanitarian grounds.
The BLA alleged Pakistani military authorities were not serious about negotiations and described initial talks as a “cunning manoeuvre” to buy time while security operations continued, including the use of gunship helicopters, drones and heavy troop deployments. The group said its Senior Command Council concluded the humanitarian extension had been misused to escalate hostilities and target Baloch fighters, and that the Pakistani side “only understands the language of strength and action.”
According to the BLA, the sentences were carried out on Tuesday in line with the final ruling of the so-called Baloch National Court. The group held Pakistan’s military high command responsible for the deaths, accusing it of placing “ego, military misadventures and cunning culture” above the lives of its personnel. At the time of publication, Pakistani military authorities had not issued an official response. (ANI)
