New Delhi — Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally received Vietnamese President To Lam at Hyderabad House on Wednesday, describing the visit as a clear signal of Hanoi’s priority for relations with India and a reflection of deep cultural and strategic links between the two nations.
The leaders observed the signing of several memoranda of understanding aimed at broadening cooperation across multiple sectors and reinforcing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. In a joint statement, Modi highlighted the visit’s spiritual dimension, noting it began with a stop in Bodh Gaya and underscoring shared civilisational and spiritual traditions that complement bilateral development goals.
Modi welcomed To Lam’s delegation, including business leaders, saying the high-level visit demonstrates the importance Vietnam attaches to the relationship and is helping convert mutual goodwill into tangible outcomes that balance heritage and progress.
