Kuala Lumpur, March 2 — Malaysia Airlines confirmed on Monday that its services to London and Paris are operating as scheduled despite wider airline disruptions tied to rising tensions in West Asia. In a statement posted to X, the carrier said it has adopted alternative flight paths to avoid affected airspace while upholding strict safety standards.
The airline noted rerouted flights may take slightly longer but emphasized passenger and crew safety remains its top priority. Malaysia Airlines also said its teams are standing by to assist travelers with urgent needs or anyone affected by regional disruptions.
Passengers were urged to update their contact details through the “My Booking” section on the airline’s website to receive timely notifications. The carrier is providing help via live chat and dedicated helpline numbers inside and outside Malaysia.
Malaysia Airlines’ assurance comes as several other carriers have suspended, rerouted, or temporarily adjusted services in response to airspace closures and operational risks linked to recent military activity and retaliatory strikes across the Middle East. Reported changes include:
– IndiGo extending temporary suspensions for select international flights routed through parts of Middle Eastern airspace and offering waivers and flexible rebooking through March 7, 2026.
– Akasa Air suspending flights to and from Jordan, Doha, Jeddah, Kuwait and Riyadh for March 3.
– Qatar Airways pausing some operations due to closures affecting Qatari airspace.
– Emirates temporarily suspending operations to and from Dubai until the afternoon of March 3 and offering rebooking or full refunds to affected customers.
These disruptions follow a period of heightened military activity and retaliatory strikes in the region that have led to multiple airspace closures and broad impacts on international flight schedules.
