Balochistan [Pakistan], February 6 (ANI): The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said Operation “Herof II” has continued into its sixth day, dismissing statements from Pakistan’s military media as propaganda.
The claim was made in a February 5 statement by Jeeyand Baloch, the BLA spokesperson. The group said the operation is ongoing with determination, consistency and military success, and that any Pakistani state or Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) claims that the operation has ended are false until the BLA itself declares an end. The statement said such official claims do not reflect ground realities and lack credibility among the Baloch population.
The BLA accused ISPR of issuing contradictory and misleading press releases, saying Pakistani authorities repeatedly announced the operation’s conclusion and the elimination of all attackers from the first day onward—claims the BLA says were made daily over six days. The group said these repeated assertions indicate failures on the battlefield and in the narrative domain.
Addressing casualties, Jeeyand Baloch said BLA fighters, referred to as Sarmachars and Fidaeens, accept martyrdom as an honourable outcome and that the organisation publicly acknowledges its fallen members by releasing names, photographs and circumstances. The statement alleged the Pakistani army conceals its own casualties by withholding identities and conducting undocumented burials.
The BLA further alleged that ISPR’s daily claims of killing large numbers of BLA fighters are used to mask military setbacks and institutional corruption for a domestic audience. It claimed that forcibly disappeared persons are sometimes killed and presented as combatants to obscure accusations of enforced disappearance and torture, though the statement provided no independent verification.
According to the BLA, the operation has received widespread support, intelligence cooperation and moral backing from the Baloch population. The statement contrasted Pakistani institutions’ reliance on force and media messaging with the BLA’s assertion that sustained resistance and sacrifices have strengthened its liberation movement.
The group reiterated that only the BLA will announce the conclusion and outcomes of Operation Herof II, and that such an announcement would be accompanied by evidence of territorial control, intelligence gains and Pakistani retreats. It said that over six days it has released images and videos through official channels showing alleged captured areas, destroyed military posts and seized assets. (ANI)
