President Donald Trump said a reported shipment described as a “gift from China to Iran,” which US forces intercepted, is “very top secret,” and he declined to supply further specifics. Speaking at the White House, he stressed that American forces are tightly enforcing a blockade on Iran and insisted that the measures are preventing shipments from getting through.
Trump characterized the blockade as “airtight,” saying operations have been highly effective and asserting that the US has “complete control.” He warned that Iran’s recent strikes across the region — which he said included attacks on Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain — could be a serious miscalculation. He added that while many expected Iran to target Israel, Tehran instead struck multiple other countries and was also laying mines, which he called “a big mistake.”
On his social platform Truth Social, Trump said he feels no urgency to negotiate a deal with Iran, arguing that Tehran’s military and economic position has been weakened. He reiterated that any agreement would have to protect US and allied interests and repeated his view that Iran’s naval and air capabilities have been significantly degraded.
