Families say three men were taken and later went missing in separate incidents in Hub and Quetta on May 2, according to reporting by the Balochistan Post carried by ANI.
In Hub, relatives say 27-year-old Iltaf Hussain was picked up at about 2:00 am from the Hub Chowki area. Hussain, originally from the Geshkor area of Awaran district, had been living in Hub. Family members allege personnel linked to Pakistan’s security and intelligence agencies were involved in his detention.
In Quetta, two men were reportedly removed from their home in the Marri Camp area of Hazarganji at around 4:00 pm the same day. Relatives told reporters the men were detained by officials they identified with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). The families say both were taken together and that no information has been provided about their whereabouts or condition.
Authorities have not issued an official confirmation of the detentions or the current status of the three men. Human rights groups have repeatedly expressed concern about enforced disappearances in Balochistan, while Pakistani officials maintain there is no policy of unlawful detentions and say security operations follow legal procedures.
Rights activists say these cases are part of a wider pattern of disappearances and extrajudicial killings in the province, where families often spend years searching for missing relatives. Despite documentation and protests by rights groups, accountability has often been limited, which critics say fuels fear, resentment and mistrust between the state and the Baloch population.
