Bhuj, Gujarat — Border Security Force (BSF) officials said an unclaimed boat, believed to be of Pakistani origin, was found abandoned in a creek along the Kutch coast on Wednesday. The discovery prompted an initial search of the vessel.
Searchers recovered fishing gear and reported no suspicious items on board. The boat was located close to the India–Pakistan maritime boundary. Security was heightened in the area and a more detailed investigation into the unclaimed craft is underway.
Authorities note that Indian fishermen are prohibited from entering the creek area of the Arabian Sea, while Pakistani fishermen sometimes stray into Indian waters. In several past incidents, such intruding fishermen have left boats behind and retreated toward Pakistan after spotting BSF patrols.
