New Delhi, May 1 — Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Friday received a farewell call from Nepal’s outgoing Ambassador to India, Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma, in the national capital. The two reviewed the long-standing bilateral partnership and discussed ways to deepen cooperation.
In a post on X, the Ministry of External Affairs said Misri reaffirmed India’s commitment to further strengthen the multifaceted, time-tested relationship with Nepal and thanked Dr. Sharma for his efforts in advancing bilateral ties during his tenure.
Dr. Sharma served as Nepal’s Ambassador to India from 2022 to 2024. A seasoned economist and diplomat, he was Nepal’s Ambassador to the United States from 2009 to 2014 and holds a PhD in economics from the University of Hawaii.
