London, April 27 (ANI) — The Jeay Sindh Freedom Movement (JSFM) held a seminar in London titled “G.M. Syed – Leader of Oppressed Nations” to mark the 31st death anniversary of G.M. Syed, the organisation said in a press release. The gathering brought together participants from Sindhi, Baloch, Pashtun and Kashmiri communities, with additional speakers joining remotely from the United States and Canada.
The program opened with the Sindhudesh national anthem and a customary reception where guests were presented with Ajraks. Speakers included JSFM Chairman Sohail Abro, Maqbool Halepoto, Zulfiqar Ali Khwaja, Qambar Malik Baloch, Hidayat Bhutto, Hafeez Baloch, Javed Khattak, Jasim Baloch, Sardar Amjad Yousaf, Syed Alam Mehsud, Sarang Hyder, Imdad Ali Odho, Barkhana Afghan and Mansoor Hub.
Participants paid tribute to G.M. Syed, recalling that on March 31, 1973 he had articulated the idea of Sindhudesh and remained devoted to that cause. Speakers said Syed championed the rights of Sindhis as well as Baloch, Pashtuns, Saraikis, Kashmiris and the people of Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan, and that he advocated human unity, peace and progress. They also referenced his cooperation with leaders such as Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, Abdul Samad Achakzai, Makhdoom Riaz Hashmi and Muhammad Hussain Anqa, and reiterated their commitment to his ideology.
The seminar adopted a set of resolutions demanding international recognition of the right to self-determination for Sindh, Balochistan, Pashtunistan, Saraikistan, Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan (PoGB). Delegates called for the withdrawal of what they described as “Punjabi domination” and urged referendums under United Nations supervision, with UN monitoring and oversight of any transfer of authority to local populations.
Other resolutions sought an immediate end to military operations in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, PoJK and PoGB; legal action in international courts over alleged human rights violations; and the release of missing persons and political prisoners. The release list specifically named Ali Wazir, Mahrang Baloch, associates of Nasim Baloch, Ustad Waheed Qambar, Talib Laghari, Sohail Bhatti and Ayub Kandhro. Participants also called for withdrawal of arrest warrants against Manzoor Pashteen, chairman of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement.
