New Delhi, May 05, 2026 — India on Tuesday condemned the attack on Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates that left three Indian nationals injured, calling the incident unacceptable and urging an immediate end to hostilities.
In an official release, the Ministry of External Affairs said New Delhi favors dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate tensions and appealed to all parties to exercise restraint to help restore peace and stability across West Asia. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized that attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure must stop.
The statement also underscored the importance of preserving free and unimpeded navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in line with international law, and said India is prepared to support efforts toward a peaceful resolution.
The comment follows reports that a drone strike ignited a fire at the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone (FOIZ) in the eastern emirate. Emergency teams fought the blaze and authorities reported three Indian nationals sustained moderate injuries and were hospitalized. The UAE Ministry of Defence said multiple projectiles were launched toward the country, with most intercepted over territorial waters and one falling into the sea.
