Tel Aviv [Israel], April 23 (ANI): The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Thursday that its troops eliminated two individuals in separate incidents in the northern and southern Gaza Strip, saying both posed an “immediate threat.”
The IDF said that on Wednesday, troops operating in the northern Gaza Strip identified a person near the Yellow Line who approached in a manner that posed an immediate threat and was subsequently eliminated to remove the danger.
A similar incident occurred in the south, the military added, where troops eliminated an individual who crossed the Yellow Line and approached forces, posing an immediate threat.
Earlier on Wednesday, the IDF said troops and the air force struck in southern Lebanon after claiming Hezbollah members violated the ceasefire by crossing the Forward Defense Line and approaching Israeli soldiers. The IDF said the incident occurred in the Saluki area, where two people who crossed the line were identified as posing an immediate threat. The Israeli Air Force struck and killed the individuals, and operations targeting Hezbollah-linked infrastructure in the area are ongoing.
Reiterating its position, the IDF said it “will continue to act to remove any threat to Israeli civilians and its troops.”
Following a 10-day ceasefire, on April 19 the IDF released a detailed map of the Forward Defense Line (also called the Yellow Line), clarifying the operational zone where Israeli forces remain positioned within Lebanese territory. The military said that despite the truce, a large contingent—five divisions and Israeli Navy forces—remains deployed south of the line, a presence it deems essential to “fundamentally change the security reality” along the northern border.
